Riding the Magic Carpet: A Surfers Odyssey to Find the Perfect Wave by Tom Anderson

The right-hand point at Jeffreys Bay is one of the surfing worlds most exciting finds, and from the age of twelve it had been my lifes purpose to surf there. J-Bay, South Africa, has the fantasy, the almost mythical waves every surfer dreams of riding once in their lifetime. But Tom wouldnt go until he was ready. He would seek out surf-spots from the virgin reef-breaks of the Outer Orkneys to the temple point-breaks of Indonesia, from the beautiful beaches of France to the wilds of Sri Lanka, on his quest to ride the waves of his dreams. Get on the road, get stoked, and get in the water.

Eric Johnson Strat vs Tom Anderson Classic?

I own a Custom Shop Fender strat and have had 2 others in my house this year. LOTS of guitars have come and gone in the last 10 years and lots of guitars have come and gone in the last 12 months. Mine has the drop D tuner as well. On Stage: This guitar is fatter than your standard tele. To me, a tele has a snarl in the upper mids and a bit of rasp to its voice. My short T has a bit of that but you lose some of the nasal honkyness that occasionally rubs me wrong with a standard tele.

Before I bought this I was trying to decide between two killer, beautiful Suhrs in a local music store. It seemed to me it had better build, action, tone, resonance and sustain. I went home and ordered a Black Cherry Metallic cl… read more. The product is nothing short of amazing with regards to playability tone! I changed the strings, with a trouble with the tuners being too stiff.

A truly beautiful modern take on a classic, with a light weight and exceptional build, playability and sounds. While trends come and go, Tom Anderson and his small but ridiculously talented team continue to produce one thing: astounding state-of-the-art electric guitars. Their quite modern aesthetic might not be your idea of 'cool', but very few guitar players would deny the quality of build, playability and sound. Does electric guitar making get any better? Well, to put that to the test we look at one of Anderson's 'big hits', the Hollow Drop Top Classic, first introduced in Prepare to be blown away

  1. How does a comparable Tom Anderson Strat compare to a Classic Suhr Strat? on something that doesn't work for you based on on-line reviews from others. I recently played a Suhr Classic S and it really came alive.
